Train the Trainer Workshops – Overview
The FRAME Extension team is developing a webinar series that aims at training growers, crop consultants, and Extension and Education Professionals to delivery a regionally-focused workshop on how to design disease management programs that focus on best disease management principles and fungicide stewardship.
While in-person and virtual offerings will be advertised using different grape organizational email listservs and groups (e.g., LinkedIn –Viticulture and Enology Extension Professionals, LinkedIn – FRAME, National Grape Research Alliance), you can also email Rebecca Schmidt and request to be included in a direct email.
Workshop Themes:
Module 1 – Overview of Major Grape Foliar and Fruit Diseases in the USA (Eastern and Western Versions)
The intent is for individuals leaving the webinar to understand current major disease challenges in their region of the USA, the environmental factors affecting disease incidence and severity, and disease management. Following the session, individuals will have the knowledge and resources to independently conduct training or educational sessions for individuals within their organization (vineyard managers), clients (crop consultants), grape industry professionals (extension professionals) or others (interns, field scouts, etc.)

Hosting a Vineyard Sprayer Calibration Workshop?
The FRAME Extension team has a limited number of Spray Coverage Assessment Kits, for single row, multi-row, and backpack sprayers, available in English and Spanish. These kits are meant to be included in workshops that have an educational component related to sprayer calibration and optimization. They include water sensitive paper, a graphic card demonstrating how to place the paper in the vine canopy, gloves, and clips to place the water sensitive paper into the vine canopy.
To see if your workshop would be an appropriate venue for these kits, and to determine kit availability, please email Michelle Moyer. Priority for kits are those workshops that are available to the general grape grower community in the area, and for workshops held in the United States.

Resistance Testing
Check with your local plant disease diagnostic service to see if they offer FRAC 11 (G143A) fungicide resistance testing.
While several commercial diagnostic companies have offered testing in the past, we are currently only aware of one company publicly advertising FRAC 11 fungicide resistance testing for grape powdery mildew:
If you are a US-based company offering fungicide resistance testing for grape pathogens, please let us know and we can add you to the list!
